Winn Dixie declares bankruptcy

Winn Dixie, hammered for the past few years by tough competition especially from Walmart Supercenters, declared bankruptcy earlier this week. I knew Winn Dixie was having a rough time of things but didn't know it was quite that bad. They have made quite a few changes, but nothing seemed to stem the tide. Hopefully they come out of it okay, if they can't turn this around after bankruptcy, they could go all the way out of business. Its almost commonplace now for former heavyweights of the retail industry (Kmart, Wards, now Winn Dixie) to face hard times or in Ward's case, go out altogether.
