Another reason for the death penalty

As you can read in the article linked below, this piece of shit is one of the best examples of why the death penatly exists. A guy shoots an off duty cop and his brother in law (shooting the cop twice), then later shoots at cops again who he is leading on a high speed chase, and this after allegedly trying to kill two other people previous to that. Two things that should have happened here: 1.) The cops should have beat his ass when they caught him, he deserved it, and 2.) If Iowa had one, he should have gotten the death penatly. They should find the hardest, crappiest job in prison and make this dirtbag do it until he is dead.
